Northern Ireland Polo Club

The Northern Ireland Polo Club was established in 1994 and has two polo grounds. The club re-established polo in Northern Ireland after the demise of the Ulster Polo Club following WWII.

The main grounds are situated at the beautiful Tyrella House on the edge of Tyrella beach, County Down. The private and picturesque location provides a beautiful backdrop for polo lessons, club chukkas and tournaments throughout the polo season. The second ground is situated at Rhone Hill in Dungannon, County Tyrone and enables players from further afield to come along and join in some club chukkas. The Rhone Hill pitch, also in stunning private grounds, is laser levelled and has the benefit of a clubhouse on site for spectators.

The club has a fully qualified HPA instructor, Jamie McCarthy. Jamie is a world renowned polo pony producer, he has spent several seasons in New Zealand playing and training ponies.

There are a number of low goal tournaments throughout the season and visitors are very welcome!
